Wrestling
Club Adviser: Wayne Gebhart: Faculty, Electrical Technology/Occupations
In spring 2009, the Wrestling Club was an intramural program with more than 30 students who regularly practiced. The wrestlers enjoyed a full practice of conditioning, drill, and live wrestling.
In fall 2009, the club team will organize and work to be recognized as a member of the National Collegiate Wrestling Association.
As a member of the NCWA, wrestlers will be able to compete in the Northeast Conference which contains more than 30 colleges including:
- Hofstra University
- Hudson Valley Community College
- Lehigh University
- Northampton Community College
- Rutgers University
- Syracuse University
- The Pennsylvania State University
- University of Pittsburgh
- Valley Forge Military College
- West Chester University
Wrestlers will also be eligible to compete in the NCWA National Tournament and the NCWA National Duels Tournament. Other tournaments may also be available.
Our plan is to reorganize the program during the next few years as an official club team with the long-term desire to reinstitute the program at the varsity level.
