Winter Weather Guidelines
If the weather is bad...
follow the guidelines below.
1. Don't risk it
If the weather conditions will make it treacherous for you travel to Williamsport for testing or advising sessions, do not put yourself in danger; there are alternatives. You may contact the Advisement Center to reschedule testing or to make other arrangements for your advising session.
To request a new placement test date, see Changing Your Test Date.
2. Check for weather related delays or closings
If inclement weather makes it necessary to either close or delay opening the College, announcements will be made on Penn College's website. See the College's Guidelines for Closings and Delayed Starts for general procedures and a list of radio and television stations that also carry weather related announcements.
Important Note:
- Rather than call the College, it is best to follow the procedures listed above to obtain delay and closing information.
If the College is closed or on a delay, there will be no one available to take your call.
3. Be aware of alternate start times and procedures for placement testing and advising sessions
In addition to the procedures listed below, information on the status of Placement Testing and Advising Sessions during weather related disruptions will be posted on the Advisement Center's main page.
Important Note:
- Please be sure to check your e-mail if inclement weather is predicted during your placement testing or advising session day.
When possible, the Advisement Center will contact you ahead of time with procedure related information if significant weather events are forecast for the area.
If the College is closed, placement testing and advising sessions will be canceled.
If you need to communicate with the Advisement Center on the morning of a delay or closing, you may contact us by e-mail at advcenter@pct.edu.
