Self-Scheduling
The self-scheduling system uses an interactive computer program that enables
students to schedule their own classes and explore a variety of course options
based on the recommendations of their advisers. Students will not be permitted
to self-schedule if they do not have an adviser-signed profile.
Advisement Center and Registrar's staff will be available to answer questions and provide any assistance you might need as you are scheduling.
The program gives instructions and commands that will take you step by step through the scheduling process.
- To access your file, the program will first ask you a series of specific questions (name, student ID number, birth date, etc.) as a security measure.
- Once in your file, you will choose the courses from your curriculum requirements that you wish to schedule, and enter the section numbers; (section numbers indicate the days and times the classes meet). If the section you chose is full, the program will tell you that, and offer a list of alternate course sections.
Additionally, along the bottom of the scheduling screen is a list of command options that allow you to choose specific actions. Some of those commands are, for example:
- Press F4 to display class times
- Press F6 to change a section
- Press F12 when done
To prevent scheduling errors, the self-scheduling system will not allow you to schedule the following:
- a class that is full
- a class whose meeting time overlaps with that of another scheduled class
- a class that has an unsatisfied pre-requisite or co-requisite
- a class that requires prior approval to schedule
