Schedule & Profile Guide
Reading Your Schedule
The following list contains information that you will need to know about reading and understanding your Penn College schedule.
- A schedule is considered preliminary until the tuition bill for a given semester has been paid. After your tuition bill has been paid, you will be considered a registered student and your schedule will be official.
- The difference that you will notice between a preliminary and an official schedule is that on a preliminary schedule, the building locations and course instructors are not listed; this information will be provided on your official schedule.
- When you are assigned an adviser, his/her name and contact information will appear at the top-right of your schedule, below your major.
- An alphanumeric designator,
section number, and title identify classes.
- Example: CSC110-01 Introduction to Information Technology
- CSC identifies the course as a computer science course
- 110 is the course number
- Introduction to Information Technology is the title of the course
- 01 identifies the section--the time, days, and location of the class - M T W H F S are the designators
for the days of of the week that a course meets.
- Classes with M W F designators meet on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
- Classes with T H designators meet Tuesday and Thursday. (T is Tuesday; H is Thursday.) - Classes meet for fifty minutes of each assigned hour. A class listed as meeting from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. on M W F will actually end at 9:50, allowing students 10 minutes to go to the next class. A class that meets from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. on T H will end at 10:45.
- Always review text at the end of the schedule, especially the dates.
- Your schedule has been prepared and reviewed by the Advisement Center and your School Office.
