On Test Day
What Time and What to Bring
All testing begins at 10 a.m. (except where noted) in the Student &
Administrative Services Center; check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. Testing materials
will be provided, including pencils. You will need to
bring with you the following:
- a form of identification, such as a driver's license
- your Penn College ID number and PIN - see your acceptance letter
- optional - four function, scientific, or graphing calculator*
* It is not necessary to use a calculator on the math test; the test is designed to be completed with paper and pencil. If you do choose to use a calculator, you are limited to one of the three options listed above. Any other electronic device is prohibited.
Student ID Photo
On test day, plan to have your photo taken for your Penn College Student ID
card in Room 110 of the Bush Campus Center (CC). The photo ID center is
open until 4:30 on placement test days. You may visit the center either
prior to placement testing (if you arrive early) or
after you have completed testing.
Agenda
To view the day's events for both parents and students, see
Placement Test Day Agenda.
If you have a disability and/or believe you may require special testing accommodations, you must call Penn College’s Disability Services Office at 570 326-3761, ext. 7731 to make the necessary testing arrangements.
Changing Your Test Date
If you cannot attend placement testing on the date you received in your Placement Test Notification letter, you may request a new date.
- Go to the Student Information System (SIS)
- Log-in using your Penn College student ID# and PIN
- Choose the "Change Placement Test Date" menu option
- You will be given a list of test dates that have seats available and asked to choose two possible alternative date preferences. Seats fill quickly, so it is important that you provide a first and second choice when requesting a new date.
- You will receive a return e-mail informing you of your new test date.
