New Student Placement Testing

To ensure that you have the entry-level skills needed for your major, you are required to take placement examinations The examinations are used to assess your skills in math, writing, and reading. Based on the test results, you will be placed in the courses appropriate for your skill level.

The College reserves the right to recommend another major or require developmental courses if the test results indicate that you do not have the required academic entry skills.

After you've been accepted into the College, the Advisement Center will send you a placement test notification letter informing you of your test date and time. The letter will be included in a packet of pre-enrollment information. Check out the links below for more details:

Tests are administered by Center staff and take place in the Advisement Center's Lab, Student & Administrative Services Center, Rm. 1047.
