Pre-Enrollment Advising Sessions
After you have satisfied placement requirements, the next step is to attend a Pre-Enrollment Advising Session. You will receive an invitation to the session specific to your major. All students will be invited.
Each session is specific to a particular group of majors. Please consult the session schedule and plan to attend the session for your major.
Pre-Enrollment Advising Sessions are required for students whose placement test scores indicate a need for developmental courses. You will be notified if you are required to attend.
During the sessions, you (and your guests) will receive:
- an explanation of your placement test results
- a review of a sample schedule and profile using the Student Information System (SIS)
- an overview of the scheduling process
- an introduction to your School or major from School deans or department heads.
Most importantly, during the advising sessions you will have an opportunity to meet one-on-one with a representative from your School. At this meeting you (and your guests) can discuss:
- the major and discipline
- the impact of developmental requirements on your choice of major
- career options
- other questions or concerns about your enrollment.
During the one-on-one sessions the Advisement Center staff will be available to assist faculty with questions.
