If the Weather is Bad. . .

Don't risk it
If the weather conditions will make it treacherous for you travel to Williamsport for testing or advising sessions, do not put yourself in danger; there are alternatives. You may contact the Advisement Center to reschedule testing or to make other arrangements for your advising session.
2. Check for weather related delays or closings
If inclement weather makes it necessary to either close or delay opening the College, announcements will be made on Penn College's Web site. See the College's Guidelines for Closings and Delayed Starts for general procedures and a list of radio and television stations that also carry weather related announcements.
Note: Rather than call the College, it is best to follow the procedures listed above to obtain delay and closing information. If the College is closed or on a delay, there will be no one available to take your call.
3. Be aware of alternate procedures for placement testing and advising sessions
In addition to the procedures listed below, information on the status of Placement Testing and Advising Sessions during weather related disruptions will be posted under Winter Weather Guidelines on the Advisement Center's main page.
If the College is closed, placement testing and advising sessions will be canceled.
Placement Testing
- If the College is on a one-hour delay, normal placement testing procedures will not be affected: testing will begin at 10:00, with a 9:30 check-in.
- If the College is on a two-hour delay, placement testing will begin at 10:30, with a 10:00 check-in.
- If the College is closed, Placement Testing will be canceled. You may contact the Advisement Center by phone or e-mail to reschedule your placement test, or see Changing Your Test Date.
Advising Sessions
- If the College is on a one-hour delay, morning Sessions will begin at 9:30 a.m., with a 9:00 check-in. (Sessions starting at 1:00 p.m. will resume as normal.)
- If the College is on a two-hour delay, morning Sessions will begin at 10:30 a.m., with a 10:00 check-in. (Sessions starting at 1:00 p.m. will resume as normal.)
- If the College is closed, Advising Sessions will be canceled. The Advisement Center will contact you with alternate date information.
