Achievement by Denita Royster, an Act 101 alumna
I am not me anymore, I am a better me!
Achievement is pushing yourself to places you've never been to achieve heights you've never attained.
A: ability to ask for the help you need
C: courage to pursue your dreams
H: holding on, no matter what
I: insight to your destiny
E: effort you put in
V: know your values and stand tall with them
E: educate yourself and others
M: modify your problems to make your life simpler
E: engage in positive affirmation, such as 'I can do this'
N: never give up, now or ever
T: take time for yourself, time to achieve your personal goals
Reach for your dreams. Don't ever give up. Remember, that what you put in your life is what you'll get out!
These words about achieving your goals, whether in or out of college, were presented by Denita Royster at the Penn College Act 101 Student Recognition Dinner, on April 24, 2003. Denita is now a proud Penn College alumnus, and is pursuing a graduate degree.
