Be part of Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Penn Pals program! In 2012, we started a new initiative, Penn Pals, in which successful students volunteer to be paired with a new first year student in order to help alleviate initial fears, answer questions, and generally guide students through the often-stressful milestones during the first year. After receiving positive feedback from the small pilot program in Spring-Fall 2012, the College has decided to continue and expand Penn Pals for Summer and Fall 2013.

Volunteer to be a Penn Pal
The Penn Pals program is an opportunity to further give back to the college by “paying forward” your knowledge and expertise to a student who may benefit from your experiences, as well as a way to encourage new students to participate in student leadership opportunities across campus. It should not be very time consuming for you, but it could be a very rewarding experience for both you and your assigned student.
To participate in the program all you need to do to complete and return the Penn Pal volunteer form and Penn Pal contract, agree to come to at least one informational training session before the end of the semester, and be willing to communicate regularly with your assigned student.
