Connections Parent Message
Getting ready for college can be a confusing and stressful time for students and parents. There are often a lot of questions, but not an easy way to get them all answered at one time.
Helping your son or daughter prepare for college doesn’t have to be a scary experience. The Penn College Connections program offers parents an opportunity to learn what is expected of students, the resources available to assist them with any challenge, and ways that you can help your son or daughter.
The Connections program is not just another campus tour. You may have already accompanied your student to a Open House or Placement Testing. Connections is the next step—perhaps the most important step.
The schedule includes interactive workshops, informative presentations, and question-answer sessions. You and your student will get answers to most of those questions that come up after being accepted to Penn College, such as:
- How safe is the campus?
- What if I get sick?
- When should I buy my books?
- What meal plan is right for me?
- How do I pay my bill?
- What is living on campus like? What is it like to live off campus?
- How will I make friends?
- How is college different from high school?
- What should I do if I am having trouble in my classes?
- How can I find out what is happening on campus?
These questions and more will be answered. And there will also be social events to give parents a chance to meet other parents and Penn College staff and faculty.
We are anxious for you to join us so that we can help make your transition to life as a Penn College parent an easy and memorable one. We look forward to meeting you at Connections.
